Compliance
The Faculty of Science has a responsibility to comply with all the laws governing its activities,
such as copyright, privacy, tax and health & safety. Failure to comply with the law can
have serious consequences for people, the environment and the University, either through personal
injury, physical or financial damage or through damage to the University's reputation.
The Secretariat and Departments need ensure they not only have good practices in place to ensure
compliance, but also that these practices are formalised. All staff are expected to be pro-active
in complying with the laws governing their activities and are expected to be familiar with the
University's Compliance Program web site.
