My first year at Melbourne was a mess, really - it was my first time out of home (moving from Portland), and between making new friends and finding my way around, I nearly failed two subjects. I pulled my act together in subsequent years and received the highest grades in geology in my second and third years.

Advice I'd give to prospective students who are considering studying science is to DO IT! If you are curious about the world, science is a knowledge base that helps you objectively interpret it.

Science Matters newsletter

Science Matters provides a range of information on science-related issues and aims to engage the broader community.

Experience Science

There are a number of opportunities for school groups to visit the Parkville campus for science related activities. The programs will provide the opportunity to discover more about Science courses at Melbourne but also to try some hands-on activities. These programs are designed for future students or secondary science teachers to increase their scientific awareness and education.
